Weddings

The beauty, romance and majesty of Stirling Castle make it one of the most wonderful possible places for your wedding.

The couple and their guests will follow in the footsteps of the royalty and nobility who wed there down the centuries.

What’s more the castle is exclusively yours during the wedding.

We offer a range of venues and packages for your special day. And there are other benefits too, such as your own event manager to help plan the day and a guided tour of the castle.

As a popular visitor attraction Stirling Castle is open to the public every day, therefore all wedding ceremonies and receptions take place out with our opening times (after 6pm from April to September and after 5pm from October to March).

Chapel Royal

The Chapel Royal is a spectacular setting for your wedding ceremony, reception, or pre-dinner drinks for those dining in the Great Hall.

Guests enter through an imposing doorway within a triumphal to discover an interior decorated with a painted frieze, dating from 1628.

The large stage gives space for entertainment or drinks following the ceremony.

Capacity: 200 guests for dinner or 300 for a standing drinks reception.

Type of ceremony: Civil, religious and humanist

Great Hall

The beautifully restored 16th-century Great Hall is one of Scotland’s most prestigious banqueting venues – an unforgettable wedding reception venue.

The minstrels’ gallery and trumpeters’ loft can be used for live music and the dais area is perfect for entertainment and dancing.

Capacity: up to 300 guests seated for dinner.

Queen Anne Garden

These lovely gardens are delightful for pre-dinner drinks on a summer evening and wedding photography.

The Renaissance palace apartments make a stunning backdrop to a tranquil garden that also has magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.
