Facilities at the castle
Security and bag restrictions
For reasons of ease of movement, visitor safety and general security, suitcases and large rucksacks are not permitted in the castle.
We are unable to store luggage, prams, pushchairs or other personal items for visitors.
We would like to make visitors to Stirling Castle aware that we are currently operating random bag searches at the Castle. Please note this may result in longer waiting times for entry, and we would like to thank visitors in advance for their patience and understanding.
It is important to note that this measure does not relate to any specific threat, but is rather part of our ongoing approach to the management and provision of a safe and secure site for our visitors and staff.
We would encourage visitors to Stirling Castle to remain vigilant and inform us of anything they see or feel is suspicious.
Please note parking on Stirling Castle esplanade is currently restricted and often reaches capacity, please allow plenty of time to park, and use alternative parking and public transport options wherever possible. See Stirling City Parking Guide for alternate nearby parking and map.
There are five accessible spaces about 65m from the castle entrance and are offered on a first come, first served basis.
We are unable to accommodate cars with trailers, caravans or mobile homes.
