A Royal Childhood
11am until 3.30pm
Join us for Living History performances and themed guided tours as we look back on the childhood of Prince Henry at Stirling Castle
Meet our historical re-enactors between 11am and 3.30 in the Royal Place and explore Renaissance fine dining, and learn how Scotland's Stewart monarchs entertained their guests from home and abroad.
Themed guided tours will take place at 11.30am, 1.30pm, and 3.30pm and consider Prince Henry's childhood at Stirling Castle between 1594 and 1603; key themes will be James VI's construction of a new Chapel Royal for Henry's baptism; the festivities laid on to celebrate the baptism; and Prince Henry's upbringing at Stirling Castle with the Erskine family, and the tension that this caused between James VI and his queen, Anna of Denmark.
