Douglas Murder tours

11.30am and 1.30pm

On 22 February 1452, what started as a dinner party at the castle ended in one of the most gruesome nights in its history. The Douglases were a powerful family at the time with long standing connections to the crown. However, when King James II invited the Earl of Douglas to dine with him on this fateful night, relations between the two had deteriorated. A dispute between the two ended in the death of the Earl of Douglas.

Join us this February for themed tour as we explore the events of the night and visit the places where they occurred.

Tours will take place on each event day at 11.30am and 1.30pm.
